New Delhi: The waiting for vaccination against Covid is now going to end soon. The government has announced the introduction of vaccination across the country from 16th January. Under which 3 crore health workers and frontline workers are to be vaccinated as a priority. A decision in this regard has been taken at a high-level meeting chaired by PM Modi last Saturday. In the meeting, the Prime Minister has reviewed the preparedness for vaccination in all states and union territories.

In a statement issued by the Government after the meeting, it was said, "after a comprehensive review, a decision can be taken that vaccination is going to be started from 16th January in view of Lohri, Makar Sankranti, Pongal, Magh Bihu etc. Later, PM Modi also tweeted and reported the decision. It has been revealed that the drug regulator DCGI has recently approved the emergency use of Covaxin of Oxford-AstraZeneca and Bharat Biotech in the country. The health department has termed both vaccines as effective in the case of safety and impact in India.

During the review meeting, PM Modi was also informed about the win vaccine delivery management system. It is a digital platform in which real-time information of vaccine stocks is going to be released. It will be reported from temperature to vaccinate for storage. With the help of this platform, those who conduct the campaign will be provided with the time to their verification to the beneficiaries who have registered for vaccination. A digital certificate will also be issued to the vaccinated people. So far, more than 79 lakh people have registered on it.
