Now popular actress Urmila Matondkar joined Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra as it resumed from Jammu's garrison town of Nagrota this morning.

The Congress leader is leading the foot march, which is now in its last phase. "When stars join, the journey becomes brighter,".  Earlier actors, including Pooja Bhatt, former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan, Sushant Singh, Riya Sen, Rashmi Desai, Kamya Punjabi,  joined Rahul Gandhi. In Delhi, Kamal Haasan joined the foot march last month.

Urmila joined Rahul Gandhi shortly after the march started from near the army garrison around 8 am amid tight security, with Congress workers and supporters lined up on the road along the route to welcome them. Urmila Matondkar had resigned from the Congress in September 2019 after a short association of six months and joined the Shiv Sena in 2020. Urmila opted for a cream-colored traditional Kashmir Pheran (loose gown) and beanie cap. Urmila Matondar took to social media and wrote, “Walk for Unity, Affinity, Equality and Fraternity,".

The Bharat Jodo Yatra commenced on September 7 from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. Rahul Gandhi has completed the marathon walk in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, before beginning the Telangana.
