Rajkuummar Rao and Bhumi Pednakar are all set for their upcoming film. Bheed The filmmaker compares this recent migrant to the 1947 partition of India.  The makers of the film finally unveiled the teaser. Bheed also features Pankaj Kapur, Ashutosh Rana, Dia Mirza, Virendra Saxena, Kritika Kamra, and others. The film is set for a theatrical release on March 24, 2023. Rajkummar took to social media to share the teaser of the upcoming film.

The film shows the early months of the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 when the migrant workers across the cities travelled back to their villages after they had no access to food or money. Sharing the teaser he wrote, "Hum kahaani bata rahe hai uss waqt ki jab batwara desh mein nahi, samaaj mein hua tha. #Bheed, a story of the darkest times, in black and white. Releasing in cinemas on 24th March 2023."’

 

The teaser shows the visuals of people crowding the railway tracks and bus stops. The voiceover describes that this scenario is not from the Partition of India in 1947 but they are from the 2020 lockdown phase, when state borders were closed as a result of an increase in coronavirus cases across the nation. As a result, thousands of people were left stranded. It released with the tagline, " The director told Variety why the makers decided that the story should be told in black and white.

The makers recently speaking about the film said, "Bheed is a story of the most perilous times which changed everything for humanity. The key objective of shooting the film in black and white was to showcase how the visuals of the social disparity during India’s lockdown were strikingly similar to what people went through during the 1947 India partition. This story is about people whose lives changed in a snap and the colors from their lives were lost when the border was drawn within the country."
