Set in the '60s, the movie is shot mostly indoors as Shetty has created sets of that era. The trailer video also gives a glimpse of the song 'Current laga re'. It begins a comedy of errors for the electric man (and his doppelganger). His romance with Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez leads to only more chaos. Both Ranveer and his friend Varun Sharma find themselves lost in a land of confusion and some more of it.

Cirkus is an adaptation of Shakespeare's play The Comedy Of Errors, has been directed by Rohit Shetty and it also feature Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Tiku Talsania, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra and Vrajesh Hirjee. It is Ranveer Singh's third collaborative project with Rohit Shetty. The duo first worked together in the 2018 film Simmba and Sooryavanshi.
