Bridgetown: The first ODI of the three-match series saw India defeat West Indies by five wickets at Kensington Oval in this city. Spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja combined to take seven wickets between them, and wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan made his move to opening count by leading the way with 52 runs.

Jadeja laid the groundwork for the West Indies' collapse with 3-37 while Kuldeep, who was introduced into the attack in the 17th over, took 4-6. In their match against India, the pair used a vicious web of spin wizardry to dismiss West Indies for 114 in 23 overs, their second-lowest ODI total.

As the visitors changed up their batting order, Kishan opened the batting, faced the bowlers head-on, and smashed seven fours and a six in his 46-ball 52. Virat Kohli, the captain, and Rohit Sharma watched from the sidelines as everyone else took a turn at the plate.

With 163 balls remaining, Rohit eventually came out to bat at number seven to complete the chase and give India their ninth straight victory over the West Indies.

Even though the Men in Blue easily defeated the West Indies in the first ODI at Barbados, Indian captain Rohit Sharma can be a comical presence on the field. Rohit didn't allow his players to become complacent.

Following their 1-0 victory in the Test series, the Indian team continued to dominate the Windies in the one-day internationals as well, defeating the hosts by a convincing margin of five wickets on a spin-friendly surface.

Although Yadav contributed with a Man of the Match performance, taking 4 wickets, Shardul made a mistake on the field that Rohit noticed and the Indian captain wasn't too happy about.

The incident happened in the West Indies innings' 19th over. During Kuldeep's first over, Shardul was fielding at mid-off when he accidentally cost Shai an extra run.

Rohit then became angry with his teammate, and a video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.
