Wayanad: As part of a protest against the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha, the Congress in Wayanad, Kerala will mark "Black Day" on Saturday, said ND Appachan, the chairman of the Wayanad District Congress Committee.

Rahul Gandhi was a Parliament member from the Wayanad constituency in Kerala.

Prior to it, VD Satheesan, the leader of the opposition in Kerala, claimed that the move against Rahul Gandhi was "hurried and politically motivated." "Rahul Gandhi was disqualified from serving as an MP in Lok Sabha by a hurried and politically motivated order. The Lok Sabha Secretariat's decision will affect Congress both politically and legally "LoP stated.
Satheesan said, "The decision of the Surat court is not final. Congress upholds the democratic and legal systems. The nation has a legal framework that includes the Supreme Court. Rahul Gandhi will return via the legal system. This will not be able to silence Rahul or Congress. We shall continue to speak out in support of secular ideals and democracy."
At a Lok Sabha election rally in Kolar, Karnataka, in April 2019, Rahul Gandhi remarked, "How come all the thieves have Modi as the common surname?"

Meanwhile, BJP MLA from Surat West, Purnesh Modi filed the criminal defamation case against Rahul Gandhi.
Due to Rahul Gandhi's exclusion from the Lok Sabha, there has been a significant political backlash, with the BJP calling the Congressman "a notorious loose cannon" and the Congress claiming that he was "deliberately disqualified."
Following Rahul Gandhi's expulsion from the Lok Sabha, opposition leaders criticised the administration, and the Congress declared it would start a people's movement to address the situation.
