Patna: Education Minister Chandrashekhar has given a big statement about the caste system in the Nitish Kumar government of Bihar. He has said that we are still carrying the curse of caste. While we are the children of chimpanzees, which have no caste. First Gautam Buddha and then Bhimrao Ambedkar knew the deformity of castes and made the public aware of untouchability.

Bihar Education Minister Chandrashekhar Azad on Saturday said India cannot become powerful by sowing hatred. The caste system has made us weak. We are carrying this curse even today. Initially, there were 6743 castes in the gazette, which has increased to more than 48 thousand today. The minister said that in Hindu culture, there were ancestors who created many different castes among Hindus. It took millions of years to become a man from amoeba, but there were no castes at that time. But, we created castes. God created man, not race. We divided them into castes.

Chandrashekhar termed Manu Smriti as wrong and said that it spread disharmony in society. We have erected a wall of castes. This deformity was first recognized by Buddha, then Baba Saheb Ambedkar, and explained to the people. Baba Saheb burnt Manu Smriti for this reason. He said that Bihar influenced Lord Buddha the most. Bihar has given the light of knowledge to the whole world, it has given Aryabhata. Our heritage is excellent, we are proud of our glorious past.
