New Delhi: Entire north India is currently in the grip of dense fog. Delhi recorded its coldest morning of the season on Friday morning with the minimum temperature settling at 5.3 degrees Celsius. During this time visibility was reduced to 500 meters, which disrupted road and rail traffic. Meteorologists say that fog will increase further in the coming 5 days.
Due to this, most of the states of North India will be in the grip of cold waves. The reason for this change is said to be the sudden drop in temperature in Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and surrounding states. The minimum temperature in these states has been recorded as less than 3 degrees. Due to dense fog in Punjab and Haryana, visibility was very low on Friday morning.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that there is no possibility of any change in this situation in northwest India for the next 4 to 5 days. While there will be no change in the maximum temperature in eastern India and it can change by 2 to 4 degrees in the next 24 hours. Fog-like conditions were seen in Delhi-NCR from morning to evening. Many areas of Jammu and Kashmir received heavy snowfall.
