Kolkata: Police have busted an arms smuggling case from Bihar to Bengal. In the action of Bengal STF, illegal weapons have been seized once again. The police have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered illegal weapons. According to STF sources, 3 pistols, 14 rounds of bullets and 6 magazines have been recovered from the arrested accused. The operation was carried out at Katwa railway station in East Burdwan district on Monday night.

According to the report, one of the three arms smugglers arrested is a resident of Bihar. Whereas, 2 are residents of Murshidabad district of the state. Police have found that these weapons are being brought to Bengal from Munger in Bihar. The Bengal STF had received information about the smuggling of weapons from secret sources. As soon as the information was received, STF officials raided the Katwa railway station and arrested three smugglers on charges of smuggling weapons, as well as seized weapons.

The STF has informed that 3 pistols, 14 rounds of cartridges and 6 magazines have been recovered from them. It is learned that these weapons were being smuggled from Bihar. One of the arrested smugglers is a resident of Munger in Bihar. His name is Shrilal Mandal (53). The remaining two smugglers are from Murshidabad. Kaswar Shaikh (42) is a resident of Nowada in Murshidabad and Sudeep Khan (25) is a resident of Hariharpada in Murshidabad.
