India beat Thailand to reach semi-finals of Junior Asia Cup

Defending champions India defeated Thailand 17-0 in their last Pool A match to advance to the semi-finals  of the Men's Junior Asia Cup hockey tournament. India beat Chinese Taipei, Japan and Thailand in their group while they drew 1-1 against Pakistan. Who India will face in the semi-finals will be known from the match between Malaysia and Oman in Pool B and Pakistan and Japan in Pool A. Pakistan will have to beat Japan by a margin of over 14 goals in their final league match to claim the top spot in Pool A.  

The Indian team has dominated against Thailand from the beginning. Angad Bir Singh scored four goals (13th, 33rd, 47th and 55th minutes). Along with Angad , Yogbar Rawat (17th), Captain Uttam Singh (24th, 31st), Amandeep Lakra (26th, 29th), Arijit Singh Hundal (36th), Vishnukant Singh (38th), Bobby Singh Dhami (45th), Sharda Nand Tiwari (46th), Amandeep (47th), Rohit (49th), Suneet Lakra (54th) and Rajinder Singh (54th) also scored goals for India.

India were leading 10-0 before the start of the final quarter. The Thailand team was defeated by then and India did not show any laxity in their aggressive attitude and continued to score goals until the hooter sounded.
