New Delhi: The monsoons were knocked out in Kerala on Saturday after an eight-day delay. Usually it hits Kerala on June 1. According to the meteorological department, there is a cyclonic zone over Lakshadweep in the south. The south-East Arabian Sea is also becoming a low-pressure area. Monsoons can be knocked out in Tripura in the northeast in the next 24 hours.

As per the information received from the sources, Skymet has forecasted 93% rain this and Met Department has indicated a chance of rain 96%. The Met Office has issued an orange alert in eight districts of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Mallappuram and Kozhikode for 9 June. There will be a red alert in Thrissur on June 10. A red alert has been issued on June 11 in Ernakulam, Malappuram and Kozhikode district. Heavy to very heavy rain is forcasted in these areas.

With this, the monsoon has turned to India after covering Sri Lanka, the disturbance in the Bay of Bengal is raining light in the north-east and West Bengal. The Karnataka government has ordered to conduct puja in temples for rain. In Belgaum, the puja is continuing for the rain in the Sayamdashi Ylamama temple. The special pooja will consist of several ministers including religious department Minister PT Parmeshwar Naik.
