Mumbai: Maharashtra Congress Chief Ashok Chavan has made a bayonet allegation against state CM Devendra Fadnavis. Chavan has said that CM Devendra Fadnavis is calling Congress MLAs privately and asking them to join the BJP. Talking to the press after a two-day district-wise review Meeting for Maharashtra Assembly elections, Congress leader Ashok Chavan said he does not think any MLA of his party will join the BJP.

Ashok Chavan has said that CM Devendra Fadnavis is trying to break the Congress. He is calling Congress MLA, but I don't think any MLA will reply to him. Ashok Chavan has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) performed well in the Lok Sabha elections, but there is no need to be happier, as the fact is that people from the Fadnavis government are angry and the results of the assembly elections may differ considerably from the general elections.

After the meeting, Ashok Chavan said that a large number of workers want to tie up with the deprived Bahujan Ambari, who contested the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra for the assembly elections. This led to the defeat of the Congress-NCP alliance in 10 constituencies. On being questioned about Sharad Pawar's statement on learning from the RSS in connection with voters, Ashok Chavan has said that the Congress has always been ideologically opposed to the RSS.
