New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in some states of South India. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain may occur at isolated places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today i.e. on Thursday. The weather forecasting agency further estimated that heavy to very heavy rains are expected in coastal and south interior Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Rayalaseema.

According to IMD, the southwest monsoon has now moved across the country and now northeast monsoon rains have started in Tamil Nadu and adjoining areas of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala. IMD said in its All India Weather Warning Bulletin that under the influence of the above systems, there is a wide possibility of widespread rainfall with widespread heavy downpour over South Peninsular India during the next 3-4 days.

The part, most of central Maharashtra, parts of the Konkan, the entire North Arabian Sea and some parts of the Central Arabian Sea have rebounded.
