New Delhi: The heat is wreaking havoc in the national capital Delhi due to no rain. However, according to the Meteorological Department, monsoon rains may occur in many states of North India including Delhi between July 17 and 20. With this, the wait of rain for Delhiites will also end. Delhi and surrounding areas have received very little rainfall so far, whereas in Assam, Bihar and Mumbai, rain has brought destruction.

About 40 lakh people have been badly affected in 27 out of 33 districts of Assam due to floods due to heavy rains. On Thursday, 5 people lost their lives in Assam floods, while 2 people died in rain-related accidents in Mumbai. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding heavy rains in Mumbai. Warning has been issued not only in Mumbai but also in Gujarat and Himachal. In view of the possibility of rain in Himachal Pradesh, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert. Apart from this, rain has also been predicted in UP, Punjab and Haryana.

On Thursday, moderate rain has been recorded in many areas of UP. Kanpur and Aligarh in the state recorded maximum temperatures of 36.6 degrees Celsius. At the same time, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan also received medium rains. Una in Himachal Pradesh recorded a maximum temperature of 36.2 degrees Celsius. A yellow alert has been issued on July 18 and 19 in the state for heavy rains. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Udaipur of Rajasthan during the next 24 hours.
