Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, the humid heat is expected to bring relief to the people who are in the grip of rain in two to three days. J.P. Gupta, director of the Zonal Weather Centre, said, "It is that rain is expected in most parts of the state in the next one or two days and it is expected to continue for the next one or two days."
It is expected to bring relief from the scorching heat that has been continuing over the past several days. According to the Met Department report, there was light rain in some parts of the state during the last 24 hours. Hatta recorded four centimetres of rainfall, Gorakhpur, Chandradeepghat, Soran and Safipur with two centimetres of rainfall. The day temperature in Allahabad, Varanasi, Moradabad, Meerut, Gorakhpur, Faizabad and Agra divisions remained above normal during the past 24 hours.
Allahabad was the hottest place in the state during this period, with the maximum temperature recorded at 42.80 degrees Celsius, seven degrees above normal. In addition, Kanpur recorded a maximum temperature of 41.80 degrees, Jhansi at 41.1 degrees, Basti 41 degrees, Phursatganj 40.8 degrees and Varanasi 40 degrees. It was three to seven degrees higher than normal.
