New Delhi: Monsoon moved further into some areas of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Tuesday. India Meteorological Department (IMD) gave information in this regard on Tuesday. Conditions in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab and the rest of Rajasthan are becoming favourable for the monsoon to progress during the next 48 hours.

The Meteorological Department said that there will be heavy to very heavy rainfall in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the coming 4-5 days. The IMD stated that "From June 24 to 25, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over the western Himalayan region and the remaining parts of the plains of northwest India." According to the meteorological report, a low-pressure area (monsoon line) is extending from North Punjab to the Bay of North-West Bengal.

Its eastern edge is expected to move northwards from June 24, 2020. On the other hand, due to the humid winds coming from the Bay of Bengal in the northeast and adjoining eastern India during the next 5 days, heavy rainfall is expected in the northeastern states from June 24. According to the Meteorological Department, till June 26, there is a possibility of rain in almost all places in Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Light rain will occur in some places and light rain in some places.
