New Delhi: Nalini Sriharan, one of the criminals released in the country's former PM Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, says that she is innocent. She said that when the former PM died, she cried for several days. She says that she herself is from the Congress family, but she is carrying the charge of killing Rajiv Gandhi.

On Wednesday, Nalini Sriharan said in a press conference, ''I am from the Congress family. When Indira Gandhi was assassinated, we did not eat anything for the whole day. We cried for 4 days. Even when Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated, we cried for 3 days. But I was accused of his murder. I will be able to live comfortably only when his murder charge is completely removed from me.'' Nalini said she was innocent and refused to answer a question on whether she knew who was behind the assassination of former PM Rajiv Gandhi.

She said, 'I cannot name anyone or point at anyone. I am not in the habit of gossiping. If I had done this, I would not have been in jail for 32 years.' Anusuya Ernest Daisy is upset with this statement of Nalini. Anusuya was a sub-inspector at the time of the attack on Rajiv Gandhi and was injured at the time of the accident, in which she lost her fingers. Anusuya said that Nalini is speaking against the decision of the Supreme Court. If she says she is innocent, then perhaps the court should review the order and conduct a fresh investigation to nab the real culprits. On Monday, Nalini Sriharan visited the Trichy Special Camp, where the four convicts released in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case are staying. In this case, Murugan, Sanathan, Robert Payas and Jayakumar are in the special camp. All four of them are facing deportation. Nalini asked the central and state governments to send them to the countries they want to go to. Nalini said, 'I have told the collector to send my husband Murugan to the country where our daughter Harita lives. Sanatan wants to go to Sri Lanka while two others are yet to take a decision on it.'
