Kolkata: A BJP worker has been killed in Nadia district of West Bengal. BJP, enraged by this incident, announced a 12-hour shutdown on Friday. BJP youth front worker Bapi Ghosh was killed in Galkata village under Bhimpur police station in Krishnanagar North Assembly constituency of Nadia.

According to sources, on Tuesday evening, Trinamool Congress (TMC) goons attacked Bapi Ghosh's head with bamboo and rod. Bapi Ghosh was badly injured in this attack. He was immediately taken to Krishnanagar District Hospital, but seeing his deteriorating condition, the doctor referred him to the NRS Hospital in Kolkata. During the treatment, Bapi Ghosh died on Wednesday afternoon.

On Thursday, angry BJP workers shut-down in Krishnanagar. However, later the police administration talked to them. Family members of Bapi Ghosh allege that Trinamool Congress (TMC) people have killed Bapi. In this case, Police say that this is a case of mutual enmity, while the BJP alleges that TMC cadre attacked their worker.
