Kolkata: A three-member BJP delegation inspected the violence-hit Bhatpara area of North 24 Parganas district of Bengal on Saturday. During the visit of the BJP delegation, the police resorted to lathicharge to evacuate people from the spot. People also raised slogans against the Mamata government in the state.

The delegation included MPs S S Ahluwalia, Vishnu Dayal Ram and Satyapal Singh. On Saturday morning, the trio arrive at Bhatpara from New Delhi. In fact, two people were killed and at least four others injured in Thursday's violent clashes in Bhatpara. A three-member delegation sent the homes of the two deceased to the families of the deceased. The police rushed to remove the locals present there.

During the visit of the BJP delegation in Bhatpara, workers chant slogan for the state CM Mamata Banerjee Hi-Hi slogans. For the Bengal police also, the people raised hi-hi slogans. The BJP delegation will submit its report of the visit to the home ministry. On the other hand, a joint delegation of MLAs from the state Congress and Left Front, led by Congress leader Abdul Mannan and CPI(M) leader Sujan Chakraborty, will visit the area.
