"Any picket or procession can create a law and order crisis at any time". DGP Dilbag said that it is our endeavour to make the situation completely normal and peaceful in the entire state, especially in the Kashmir Valley as soon as possible. A slight omission can spoil the whole atmosphere. He justified the police action on a demonstration of women led by Suraiya and daughter Safia Abdullah, sister of National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah in Srinagar last Tuesday, saying they did not have permission to protest. Of course, she was performing in a peaceful manner, but the placards she had picked up had some provocative words written on them that could have an impact on law and order.
