It is noteworthy that Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi met PM Modi and home minister Amit Shah for the first time after the Lok Sabha polls. He had told the press before the meeting that it was a courtesy call because he had not met him after Modi assumed the charge for the second time. The meeting comes at a moment when tension has arisen between the centre and West Bengal over the post-election violence in the state.
