Kolkata: Assembly elections are due in West Bengal this year. Earlier there is a lot of political turmoil in the state. Meanwhile, Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar claimed that the whole country is prone to bloodshed and violence in the assembly elections in the state. He has asked the police and administration to maintain fairness.

Governor Dhankar said that if public servants get involved in political work, it will be a big blow to the democratic system and there can be no greater challenge for the rule of law. Dhankhar said in a press conference during Purulia's visit that there is only one discussion in the country, in which it is feared that there will be bloodshed and violence in elections in West Bengal. The governor has also asked the administration, police and media to create an atmosphere for a violence-free assembly election. This election is proposed in April-May this year.

Dhankar said that if voters are intimidated and government officials are involved in political work then it will be a setback for the election process. He urged the government machinery to remain neutral. In addition, it was asked to ensure that people can exercise their franchise in an independent and impartial manner during the assembly elections.
