Another BJP leader shot dead in West Bengal, Governor summons CM Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has summoned CM Mamata Banerjee and high officials by sending summons. The governor has called them all for a meeting at Raj Bhavan at 10:00 am on Monday. On Sunday night, he tweeted, "Due to deteriorating law and order situation, summons has been sent in view of the murder of Manish Shukla, Councilor of Titagarh Municipality."

Besides CM Mamata Banerjee, the governor has sent summons to Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Hari Krishna Dwivedi of West Bengal and Virendra, Director General of Police (DGP) of the state. BJP's North 24 Parganas District Committee member Manish Shukla has been killed on Sunday evening. In Titagarh, Bengal, unidentified assailants fired indiscriminately on Shukla. West Bengal BJP state president Dilip Ghosh and party general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya tweeted strongly condemning the murder of Shukla.

Ghosh has said, "The painful killing of Manish Shukla, the young BJP leader, lawyer and former councilor, is condemnable. This is an example of the bloody politics going on in West Bengal during the TMC tenure." Kailash Vijayvargiya tweeted that "BJP leader Manish Shukla was shot dead in front of Titagarh police station in North 24 Parganas district. The case should be investigated by the CBI."
