Kolkata: There has been a fierce fire on the encounter of Vikas Dubey, the main accused in the case of the shootout in Kanpur and demise of eight policemen. Opposition parties of Uttar Pradesh are constantly raising questions about this encounter. Now the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) of West Bengal has also opened a front against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of UP on this issue.

Firhad Hakim, a minister in the Mamata government and the mayor of Kolkata, questioned the encounter and said that after committing such a heinous crime, there is a question whether Vikas Dubey was a Pakistani terrorist? He strongly criticized the encounter and said that crime is a crime. But taking the law into your hands is a greater crime than that. Hakim said that no one is supporting crime. Attacking the police is absolutely a terrorist act.

Mamata's minister said that the right step would have been that the concerned authority could have been contacted and a decision should be made in the court as per law. He said that the way the encounter happened, it tells that the UP police is committing the crime itself. Farhad Hakim said that we all look towards the Indian justice system. Those who do not trust it, they do not believe in the Constitution either.
