Kolkata: A 36-year-old man was beaten to death in West Bengal. Police officials have informed that this man was working in an unregistered firm located in Kolkata. The deceased has been identified as Amit Ranjan Chatterjee. Three people, including the owner of the company, have been arrested in this case. Police have registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against the accused.

According to the police, Chatterjee was admitted to the hospital by six youths on Saturday night. He told doctors at MR Bangur Hospital that he was injured in an accident. However, the police got suspicious after seeing the injuries sustained by the victim. At the same time, the injured person could not be saved during treatment, he died shortly after. "The hospital authorities informed us about it," an official from Regent Park police station said. The hospital staff had held one Somnath Chakraborty, while five boys fled from there. Suman Mandal, the owner of the company, has informed that Chatterjee had taken around Rs 3 lakh from people in the name of the firm. He did not deposit this money in the company's account.
