New Delhi: Caribbean batsman Chris Gayle, popularly known as the Universe Boss, has achieved another big milestone. Chris Gayle has become the first batsman in the world to score 14,000 runs in T20 cricket. Gayle reached this magical figure as he scored his 29th run in the third T20 match against Australia in St Lucia. Chris Gayle scored an explosive 67 off 38 balls in the match.

 

 

Chris Gayle crossed the 50-run mark for the first time in T20 Internationals after scoring an unbeaten 100 against England in March 2016. Gayle's innings helped West Indies beat Australia by 6 wickets to take an unbeaten 3-0 lead in the 5-match series.  Chris Gayle, 41, now has 14,038 runs in 431 T20 matches at an average of 37.63. He has scored 22 centuries and 87 fifties with his bat. West Indies' Kieron Pollard is second in the list with 10,836 runs in 545 matches. Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik is third on the list. Shoaib Malik has scored 10,741 runs in 425 T20Is so far.

Indian captain Virat Kohli is the highest run-scorer in T20 cricket. Kohli has scored 9,922 runs in 310 T20Is so far, including five centuries and 72 fifties. Kohli scored these runs at an average of 41.86.  Kohli overall occupies the fifth position in the list.
