West Indies cricket team batsman Marlon Samuels has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. He played his last match for the West Indies against Bangladesh in 2018. The West Indies have won the T20 World Cup twice and Samuels scored the most runs in both of those final matches. However, he has now retired from professional cricket.

According to media reports, Marlon Samuels had told Cricket West Indies about his retirement in June this year. Johnny Grave, chief executive of the West Indies, has given information about this. Samuels played a tremendous storm in the final of the 2012 T20 World Cup. He scored a blistering 78 off just 56 balls with the help of 3 fours and 6 sixes. He also scored an unbeaten 85 off just 66 balls in the 2016 T20 World Cup final. He scored 11,134 runs in his cricket career, including all formats and scored 17 centuries during this period. Samuels also has 152 wickets in his bowling.

Recently, Marlon Samuels came into the limelight for the wrong reasons. He wrote very objectionable things for Ben Stocks on his social media accounts. The 39-year-old Samuels said bad things about the Stocks' colour and his wife. After this, he was fiercely criticized by Shane Warne.
