New Delhi: Former West Indies cricket team captain Darren Sammy has alleged that he faced racial remarks while playing with Sunrisers Hyderabad's team in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Sammy's statement comes after the vocal support of the Black Lives Matter campaign in the US following the murder of George Floyd of African descent in the US.

Former West Indies cricketer Darren Sammy wrote on his Instagram page on Saturday that, "I have just come to know what 'Kalu' means. When I used to play for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL, they used to call me Tisara Perera by this name. I used to think that it means a strong person. I came to know this from my previous post and since then I am angry." However, Sammy did not say when and who made the remark against him.
