"What I am doing with SS Rajamouli is not as an actor, I am a student": Ram Charan on working with the director

Walking inside a S.S. Rajamouli film is a learning curve for Telugu superstar Ram Charan, who turns into a student who takes his director's creative energy at every turn.

"I always say I am not an actor going into a Rajamouli picture, I am a student going into a Rajamouli film," the actor, who worked with Rajamouli in the 2009 smash "Magadheera" and the upcoming feature "RRR," remarked. I'm looking forward to seeing what I'll learn from his film or from him."

"I have gone with a blank slate and have fully unlearned to thoroughly absorb what he gives to us as actors," Ram Charan continues, adding that he went on sets with the sole purpose of raising his game as an actor based on his learnings from the Director. However, he emphasises that one must be able to assess Rajamouli's scope and vision in order for the process to be completed.

"Scope of work for the new things that he'll make you see if you open your antennae and wait," Ram Charan said. "There are so many things that I learned from him that will benefit me 'for us' in the future." The film 'RRR,' directed by S.S. Rajamouli and starring Jr. NTR and Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, was set to be released on January 7 but was postponed due to an increase in Covid cases across the country.
