New Delhi: Aadhaar card is a very important document for Indian citizens. So everyone knows about the Aadhaar card. But, do you know about the Blue Colour Aadhaar card?  If not here we are talking about it. UIDAI issues Aadhaar cards with a unique identification number. It contains your biometric and demographic details. For this reason, it can also be used as address proof in many places.

There are two types of Aadhaar cards. One is the regular Aadhaar card that is issued to all people. It comes printed on white paper. The second Aadhaar card is issued to children, which is in blue colour. Aadhar card with blue colour is also known as Bal Aadhar card. For a new birth, their parents can apply for a child Aadhaar card. Baal Aadhaar Card was released by UIDAI in 2018. It is made for children under the age of five. Apart from colour, there are other differences.

Biometric data such as fingerprints and iris scans are taken for Aadhaar cards, but it is not required for child Aadhaar cards. In order to apply, the parents of the children should have their Aadhaar card and the birth certificate of the child. Child Aadhaar is linked to the Aadhaar card of the parent or one. Baal Aadhaar Card is not valid when the child is older than 5 years. The biometric data is then updated and a regular Aadhaar card is issued to the child concerned.
