Lucknow: A major statement by IG Laxmi Singh on the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case has surfaced. She said that the search is on for Ashish Mishra, son of Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra and he will be arrested soon. Laxmi Singh's statement also indicates that the police are yet to know where Ashish Mishra is at the moment. While till a few days ago Ashish was constantly cleaning up in front of the media.

On Sunday, four farmers lost their lives when a car mowed down farmers protesting in Lakhimpur. Four others were also killed in the same incident. Which included two BJP workers, a driver and a journalist. Several videos of the case have surfaced since Sunday. But so far no one has been questioned or arrested. The UP police were also the target of opposition parties over this.

An FIR has been lodged against Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra. The FIR was filed by Jagjit Singh of Bahraich. It says Ashish Mishra had trampled the farmers with a car and also opened fire on them.
