Be Safe with WhatsApp, a safety campaign by WhatsApp that highlights features that will enable users to take control of their online safety and guarantee a safer messaging experience, has been launched in an effort to raise awareness of safer digital practises. Three months will pass while the campaign is running.

According to a release on Wednesday, the campaign mainly focuses on informing customers about the product's built-in security features and capabilities, which give individuals the safeguards they need to help protect them from online scams, fraud, and account-compromising threats. Two-step verification, which adds an additional layer of security to the account, as well as blocking and reporting suspicious accounts are important safety measures that are emphasised in the campaign.

By using the Two-Step Verification feature, which needs a six-digit PIN when resetting and validating your WhatsApp account, users of WhatsApp can add an additional layer of security to their account. This is useful if the phone is compromised or if a SIM card is stolen. According to Shivnath Thukral, Director, Public Policy India, Meta, "User safety is at the core of everything we do at WhatsApp, which is why we're launching our safety campaign, "Stay Safe with WhatsApp," in an effort to drive user awareness around WhatsApp's safety tools and product features that can help keep users safe from online scams and frauds. Thukral said, "We have added layers of security and protection over the years with cutting-edge technologies that enable consumers to take charge of their online safety. Thukral continued by saying that this campaign serves as a crucial reminder for individuals on how to protect oneself in today's digital-first society.

A crucial component of this campaign is the group privacy settings, which guarantee secure messaging. Users can choose who can add them to groups using WhatsApp's privacy settings and group invitation system, boosting user privacy and preventing others from adding you to groups you don't want to be a part of. You have the option of leaving a group secretly without informing anyone if you find yourself in a chat that you don't want to be in.
