New Delhi: Today is the 61st birth anniversary of Kalpana Chawla, the first Indian woman astronaut. We are all aware of the tales related to space of Kalpana Chawla, popularly known as Space Pari. But their love story is equally interesting. The imagination of Karnal, who stepped into space, fell in love with a young man from France across the seven seas. Kalpana Chawla, who illuminated the name of India on the same international stage, was born on March 17, 1962 in Karnal district of Haryana. After studying in Haryana itself, he obtained a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Chandigarh University.

Thereafter. He completed his studies in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Texas. As soon as she studied in Texas, Kalpana met Jean-Pierre. Jean had come from France to Texas to take pilot training. With the growing time, their love blossomed and both of them got married in December 1983 while studying. Even with married life, Kalpana's passion for space did not diminish. In 1988, Kalpana started working at NASA's Ames Research Center. Then the time came, for which the whole world was waiting with imagination. In the year 1995, Kalpana was selected as an astronaut.

Kalpana's first space journey began on the STS-87 Columbia Space Shuttle. Kalpana lasted from 19 November 1997 to 5 December 1997. Because of this, he did more than 80 tests. NASA was also well aware of his passion for space. This was a big reason why Kalpana was chosen to go to space for the second time as well. On 16 January 2003, Kalpana started her second space journey from the Columbia Space Shuttle. s. Tea. S.-87 was completed by the Columbia Space Shuttle. This journey lasted from 19 November 1997 to 5 December 1997. Kalpana Chawla's second and last flight began on January 16, 2003 from the Columbia Space Shuttle. After spending more than 360 hours in space, when Kalpana's shuttle crashed on February 1, 2003, a few moments before reaching Earth. In this accident, 6 astronauts including Kalpana died.
