She began her journey in pageant world in the year 2009 when she participated in Femina Miss India 2009. She was awarded Miss India Talented 2009 title. Pooja Hegde once landed herself in trouble when she  shares  a meme of Samantha Ruth Prabhu  which says 'I don't find her pretty at all.' Both of these occasions stirred a huge debate on the social world. Samantha’s fans brutally criticized her.

After which the actress clarified the rumors in an interview and said, "My social media will always be about the good times in my life because I feel that there’s already so much negativity out there and I don’t want to add to it. I try to let that go and then focus on the positive.” Pooja also claimed that her account was hacked and later also shares her video on dancing Samantha’s show.

Career

Pooja Hegde made her debut with Mysskin-directed Tamil movie Mugamoodi in the year 2012. She then featured in the Telugu films Oka Laila Kosam and Mukunda (2014). She even received an opportunity to feature as the lead actress in Ashutosh Gowariker's Mohenjo Daro in 2016 along with Hrithik Roshan, making it her debut in Bollywood. The actress has also featured in Houseful 4.

Pooja also won Zee Telugu Golden Awards for Entertainer Of The Year (Female) and Zee Cine Awards Telugu for Favourite Actress role in Maharshi. Her biggest break yet is yet to come as she is working with none other than Salman Khan in his upcoming film Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali.
