Kochi: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan's reaction has come amid the ongoing controversy over hijab in schools and educational institutions in Karnataka. He said that, there are many such cases in Islam, when women refused to wear hijab. He said that for vested interests, efforts are being made to take women back to the dark age. He said that hijab is not an intrinsic part of Islam. In 1986, the government bowed under the pressure of the fundamentalists, but this government would not bow down.

Kerala Governor and Islam Scholar Mohammad Arif Khan said that my advice to the students is to go back to class and focus on studies. The best environment is found here to do better in life. He said that, I do not want to react to the statement of Pakistan. At the same time, on Malala Yousafzai's reaction in this matter, the governor said that perhaps she was given wrong information. Hijab is not banned anywhere in India. But in some organizations there are rules and regulations, which have to be followed. Not only this, Arif Mohammad Khan, presenting the proof of his point, also narrated the story of a female relative of Prophet Mohammad.

Arif Mohammad said, 'Let me give you just one example. A young girl, who was raised in the home of the Prophet Muhammad, was the niece of the Prophet's wife. She was beautiful. This is what history says. In medieval times, the woman's husband was the governor of Kufa at that time, he was reprimanded for not wearing the hijab. Arif Mohammad Khan told that on this the woman had said, Allah has made her beautiful and the Almighty has put a seal of beauty on her. That's why she wants people to see her beauty and see the grace of God in her beauty. Give thanks to the Almighty.
