One of the most renowned faces in South Industry Catherine Tresa was born in Dubai. Her parents' names are Frank Mario Alexander and Tresa Alexander. She has a sibling named Christopher Alexander. Catherine finished her primary education and 12th in Dubai and relocated later to India for higher education. 
The actress worked in many south Indian cinemas such as Rudhramadevi, Sarrainodu, Goutham Nanda and Jaya Janaki Nayaka (Telugu), and Kathakali, Kanithan, Kadamban, and Katha Nayagan (Tamil). At the age of 14, Catherine did some amateur modeling for fashion design graduate students. After coming to India, she modeled for Nalli Silks, Chennai Silks, Fast Track, Josco Jewellers, and Deccan Chronicle. 
Her life changed when her brother Christopher left a suicide note behind, which indicates he was suffering from depression and was found hanging by his tie from a window grille. The young actress was devastated by the demise and shared her grief in a touching letter that she posted on her social networking site.  Sharing a letter the actress wrote, “I lost my little brother Christopher, my best friend, confidante, and companion on the 10th of December 2014. I just cannot think of words that would describe the loss. My family and I are unable to grasp the reasons behind my brothers' drastic decision and are in unbearable pain and grief.”
Catherine won the nomination for Best Supporting Actress-Kannada at the Filmfare Awards South. She has earned numerous awards for her excellent work, such as the Ananda Vikatan Awards, the SIIMA Award and the Edison Awards for Best Début Actress. For Best Female Début, she earned her career first Filmfare Awards South.
