New Delhi: The unique identification authority of India (UIDAI) database must have a link to your Mobile Number with your Aadhaar card. There are many reasons behind this. One of them is that you get a one-time password (OTP) on this registered mobile number, which is used for verification. There are times when people forget the mobile number given in Aadhaar. Most of the time, this happens only when you change many mobiles. But, you can easily find out which mobile number you have entered in your Aadhaar card.

If your mobile number is linked with Aadhaar, you can easily verify your Income Tax Return (ITR) through Aadhaar based OTP. Your mobile number must be registered in case of Aadhaar based KYC. Only then will the process of KYC be completed through Aadhaar based OTP. In addition, to get all kinds of different Aadhaar related services online, you also need to have a link to your Mobile Number with your Aadhaar number. Here we tell you how you can find out if your mobile number is registered in the UIDAI database.

1: Go to http://www.uidai.gov.in first.
2: Select 'Verify Email/Mobile Number' in the 'My Aadhaar' tab.
3: A new tab will open on your system. Enter your Aadhaar number here and enter either the mobile number or the email ID, whichever way you want to verify.
4: Enter the captcha code and click 'Send OTP.'

If the mobile number entered matches the record of the UIDAI, the screen will receive a message that your entered mobile already exists in its record. If this does not happen, the mobile number entered does not match the record of the UIDAI, you will be told that the mobile number entered does not match the record. If the mobile number entered does not match the UIDAI record, you need to visit the local Aadhaar center to update it. You will have to pay a fee of Rs 50 to update your mobile number at the Aadhaar center. State that the updation of the mobile number is not online.
