Jaipur: An attempt was made to blow up the railway track in Udaipur, Rajasthan by installing a detonator on Sunday (November 13). Asarwa-Udaipur Express was supposed to depart on this track and PM Modi had recently inaugurated this track. This incident of breaking the track took place in the Kevde Ki Naal area. Condemning the incident, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that the police have been instructed to get to the base of the matter. Strict action will be taken against whoever is behind this.

CM Gehlot has tweeted in this regard, 'The incident of blowing up the railway tracks on the Oda railway bridge on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad rail route is very worrying. Senior officers of police and administration are investigating on the spot.' DG Police has been ordered to get to the bottom of the incident. Railways will be given full cooperation in the re-operation of the bridge. Railway passengers on this route are being taken to their destination. At the same time, Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer (PRO) of North Western Railway said that 'It was reported at around 8 in the morning that a detonator has been used to blow up the railway tracks. Police and railway officials are present on the spot.'

Anil Kumar Vishnoi, SHO of Jawar Mines Police Station told the media that the local people informed the police about the blast on Sunday morning. He said that we have found some explosives on the track and efforts are on to identify the accused. Vishnoi further said that police and railway officials are stationed at the blast site and are investigating. Meanwhile, Udaipur Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikas Sharma said that the entire matter is being investigated from all angles. The work of restoring the railway tracks smoothly has started.
