New Delhi: The tenure of Chief Justice of the Apex Court (CJI) Justice SA Bobde is due to be completed. Judge Bobde is going to retire on April 23. The discussion on who will become CJI after him has intensified. The country's Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad have also written a letter in this regard to Justice Bobde.

Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in his letter asked CJI Justice SA Bobde about the next CJI. Ravi Shankar Prasad has questioned Justice S. A. Bobde as to who will be his successor after him? Who is to be appointed as the 48 Chief Justice of the country? Justice Bobde will retire on April 23.

Justice N.V. Ramana is the most senior judge in the apex court. According to the tradition that has been there so far, Justice Ramana will be the successor of Justice Bobde to the country's next CJI. According to tradition, about a month before his retirement, the country's serving chief justice sends a letter to the president recommending the most senior judge in the Supreme Court to be his successor.
