New Delhi: Delhi's Saket Court on Thursday refused to decide on the petition of Hindus and Jains regarding the right to worship in the Qutub Minar complex. The court says that a fresh petition has been filed in this matter, the court will look into it and then hear it. Due to which no decision has been given on this matter today.

It may be mentioned that earlier on 24 May, the court had reserved its order as the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) had told the court that the existence of Hindu statues inside the Qutub Minar complex cannot be denied. But it is a world heritage where the fundamental right to worship cannot be claimed. The court took on record ASI's objections to the cases and said it would give its verdict on June 9 (Thursday).

The court wanted to know whether the petitioners can claim any legal or fundamental right to worship. Considering that about 800 years ago there were 27 temples here. Additional District Judge Nikhil Chopra had on May 24 told advocate Hari Shankar Jain, one of the petitioners in the case, that if God has been without worship for the past 800 years, let him remain as it is.
