Being immersed in work, I could not give time to my family
Recently, Aamir Khan shared many important things related to his life in Rhea Chakraborty's podcast 'Chapter 2'. During this conversation, he spoke openly about his children, family, and his decision to move away from films. Aamir told that during COVID-19 and lockdown, he got time to reflect on his life. During this time he realized that for the last 30 years he was so engrossed in his work that he forgot to spend time with his family and children. Because of this he got angry with himself.
Aamir said, "The people who are closest to me, I never gave them time in those 30 years... 30 years! My mother is getting old now, and I don't know how much time I have left with her. Life can't be trusted anyway, but when it comes to my own life, I realise that I have spent very little time with my mother."
Aamir Khan's decision to walk away from films
Aamir told that he was so saddened by the neglect of his family that he decided to quit films completely. He also tried to sell his production company, but could not find a buyer. Even his son Junaid did not want it. Aamir said, "That feeling was a turning point in my life. At that time I decided that I will leave the thing that keeps me away from my family. I decided that I will never work in films, neither will I act, nor will I direct, absolutely not. I wanted to move away from films."
Family inspired him to return to films
Aamir told that when he discussed this decision with his children and ex-wife Kiran Rao, they explained and convinced him. His daughter Ira advised him to maintain a better balance between work and personal life. On this, Aamir decided to continue working, but now he is balancing it better with his family, which makes him feel less guilty.

Talking about the work front, Aamir Khan was last seen in "Lal Singh Chaddha" with Kareena Kapoor and Mona Singh. After this, he did a cameo in the film "Salaam Venky" and also produced "Laapata Ladies". Now Aamir will soon be seen in his next film "Sitare Zameen Par".
