Murali Kartik, an Indian cricketer who played on occasion for the Indian cricket team from 2000 to 2007, was born on September 11, 1976, in Madras, Tamil Nadu. He is a slow left-arm orthodox specialist bowler who has gained notoriety for his loopy trajectory and ability to spin and bounce, but Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble have prevented him from being selected for international play. He is a left-handed batsman who has achieved some success in first-class cricket, scoring eleven half-centuries, but he hasn't done it in international competition yet.

In India, cricket has been played for more than 200 years, becoming to be the unofficial national game. The sport has developed into a significant source of national pride since Pakistan and India were split apart after gaining independence in 1947. Given the numerous wars, they have fought since 1947, India and Pakistan have an exceptionally heated enmity. Murali Kartik is one of India's top cricketers and has won recognition abroad for his abilities as a bowler and a batsman in international competitions.

The presence of Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh, two previously established geniuses, overshadowed Murali Kartik, maybe the most unfortunate left-arm spinner of the group. Kartik is renowned for his ability to produce extra spin and bounce with a high-arm motion and has a unique trajectory.

Before getting chosen for the Indian U-19 squad, Kartik played for the Railways and made his first-class debut in 1996–1997. Then, in a Test match against South Africa in Mumbai in 2000, he made his international debut. His career suffered greatly as a result of disciplinary troubles because he was frequently deployed as a defensive option.

He was denied further opportunities because of the lack of confidence he received from the then captain, Sourav Ganguly, and was under-bowled as a result. Kartik, however, gained notoriety in ODIs after making his debut in 2002 and made an impression with his traditionally shaped bowling. His crowning achievement came in the memorable triumph India achieved over Australia in 2004–05 as a result of his seven-wicket haul. After this, Kartik only participated in one Test before being relegated to the periphery.
