Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has banned the installation of the statue of late NT Rama Rao, former CM of Andhra Pradesh. The High Court has also refused to give permission to the state government and officials to install the idol. Some organizations have expressed apprehension of hurting religious sentiments due to the installation of this statue.

According to the report, this statue was to be installed in the middle of Lakkaram Lake in Khammam city. In this statue, former CM NT Rama Rao is shown as Lord Krishna. Let us tell you that NT Rama Rao played the role of Shri Krishna in many films. In such a situation, his idol has been made in the form of Shri Krishna in his memory. This idol was to be installed on the occasion of his birth anniversary. Many organizations have objected to the installation of this statue. They say that this has hurt their religious sentiments. Those who raised objections include various organizations like Shri Adibatla, Shri Kala Peetham, Akhil Bhartiya Yadav Mahasabha, Krishna Chaitanya Tripurani. After this, the Telangana High Court has stayed its establishment till further orders.

The NTR Vigraha Nirman Samiti, headed by Telangana Transport Minister Purvvada Ajay Kumar, was to unveil the statue on May 28, the birth anniversary of NT Rama Rao. Yadav Mahasabha's counselor Chhalkani Venkat Yadav has said that no statue of Shri Krishna resembles NTR, in such a way it can hurt the sentiments of the people. Let us tell you that this year the 101st birth anniversary of NT Rama Rao will be celebrated. Earlier last year his 100th birth anniversary was celebrated in which many senior leaders came to pay tribute to him.
