Kolkata: At least 275 people have lost their lives in a train accident in Odisha's Balasore, with some reports putting the figure at over 280. At the same time, 1100 people have been injured. West Bengal BJP leader and MLA Suvendu Adhikari said that the accident happened in another state, so why is CM Mamata Banerjee afraid of a CBI inquiry into the accident? 

Suvendu Adhikari has slammed Mamata Banerjee over the incident. He said the incident was a conspiracy by the Trinamool Congress (TMC).  Otherwise, why is Mamata Banerjee afraid of a CBI probe? The accident has happened in another state, so why is Mamata Banerjee afraid of the investigation? He alleged that the TMC tapped the phones of two railway officials with the help of police. How did they know about the conversation between the two officers? How the conversation was leaked is also a matter of investigation. This should also be investigated during the CBI investigation, otherwise I will go to court.  

What was the reason behind the accident? There is a constant demand for a CBI inquiry for this, but West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has said that the CBI investigation is not going to yield any result. Regarding this statement of CM Mamata, Subhendu Adhikari has targeted her, and said, why is the Chief Minister afraid of the investigation, is this incident a conspiracy of TMC? In 2010, there was a Dnyaneshwari train accident in Bengal, in which 150 people died. Its CBI investigation had revealed that the Maoists had opened the fishplates of the tracks, due to which the train derailed and the accident took place.
