Jaipur: As the countdown to the Rajasthan Assembly elections continues, the conspicuous absence of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi from the state has raised eyebrows and sparked discussions. Despite being third in the list of star campaigners for the Congress party in Rajasthan, after Mallikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi, Rahul has not conducted a single rally in the state, leaving party candidates and workers eager for his arrival.

With only a fortnight left until voting, Rahul Gandhi's absence has become a subject of speculation and rumors. Although party leaders have indicated that Rahul, along with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Kharge, will focus on Rajasthan after Diwali and conduct several rallies, the delay has left the party members anxious.

While the election dates were announced on October 9, Rahul Gandhi's last visit to Rajasthan was on September 23 for a 'workers' conference' in Jaipur. Since then, both Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi have conducted rallies in the state.

Congress state in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa explained that Rahul is prioritizing states where voting is scheduled earlier than in Rajasthan. Elections in Mizoram and Chhattisgarh (phase one) took place on November 7, and voting for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh (phase two) is set for November 17. Rahul is expected to focus on Rajasthan after these initial rounds of elections.

Party insiders speculate that Congress might view Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh as having better chances of victory, which could explain the delay in Rahul's rallies in Rajasthan. The party leader had hinted at this strategy during an event in Delhi in September, stating, "Right now we are probably winning in Telangana, definitely winning in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. In Rajasthan, we are very close, and we think we will be able to win."
