Why is Nag Devta fed milk

Nag Devta is also mentioned in our scriptures. Whether the bed of Lord Vishnu is of the snake or it sits on the neck of Lord Shiva in the form of ornaments. It is also said that this entire earth rests on Sheshnag. The scientific reason behind feeding milk to Nag devta is that if milk is given to Nag or any poisonous organism, it is harmful for them and it can lead to its death. At the same time, the religious belief behind this is that if we welcome our enemy with delicious food, it will calm its anger to some extent. In the same way, if milk is kept on the threshold of the house on the day of Nagpanchami and if the snake enters our house, then it cannot succeed in its important purpose.

Nagdevata is also called Kshetrapal

Nag Devta protect our fields from mice etc. It do not allow organisms that harm crops to enter the fields and it devour them. Therefore, Nag is also called Kshetrapal for this reason.

When do you celebrate Nagpanchami?

The festival of Nagpanchami holds a special place in Hinduism. Panchami of Shukla Paksha of Sawan month is celebrated as Nagpanchami. Nag Devta is worshiped on this day.
