The Women's and Men's Professional Tennis Tour will not award ranking points for Wimbledon this year as the All England Club has banned players from Russia and Belarus due to the attack on Ukraine. The WTA and ATP announced the decision on Friday night. The announcement was made two days before the start of the French Open and Wimbledon is scheduled to start a month later on June 27.

Technically, this would mean that this tournament will be similar to the exhibition competition, there is no ranking points at stake. It will remain Wimbledon, which has its own tradition and reputation, in which all the players play in white dresses and in which the amount of millions of dollars that you get is going to be very important. So hopefully, the player who qualifies for it will play in it.

Russian players have been barred from participating in many sporting events, including the qualifying playoffs of the Football World Cup. Russia launched an attack on Ukraine in February and has been carried out with Russia's assistance in Belarus. The All England Club said in April that it would not allow Russia and Belarus to participate in their competition, which was highly condemned by some of the big players, including the WTA and ATP, such as defending champion Novak Djokovic.
