New Delhi: The Kerala High Court has issued a notice to the Central government over PM Narendra Modi's photograph on the Corona vaccine certificate. The Kerala High Court on Friday sent a notice to the Central government seeking its response to a petition seeking issuance of corona vaccination certificate without PM Modi's photograph.

Kottayam petitioner M Peter argued that the existing vaccine certificate violates the fundamental rights of a citizen and sought a certificate without a photograph of PM Modi. After filing the petition, Justice PB Suresh Kumar directed both the Centre and the state governments to file their views within two weeks. The petitioner also submitted vaccination certificates from several countries including the United States, Indonesia, Israel, Germany, stating that they have all the necessary information on the certificate, not photos of heads of government.

The petitioner also said that he has to carry the certificate with him to several places and the prime minister's picture has no relevance in the certificate. In such a case, people can be given the option to get certificates without any photos if the government wants to. The petitioner said in a petition filed through advocate Ajit Joy that the fight against the epidemic has been converted into a public relations and media campaign. This suggests that it is a One-Man show and the entire campaign is to project one person. That's also being done by the expenses of the government exchequer. He said he has every right to get a vaccine certificate without PM Modi's picture.
