New Delhi: Young batsman Ishan Kishan created history in the third ODI against Bangladesh. Ishan scored a double century in ODI cricket here in an innings of 210 runs and became the fourth Indian batsman to do so. Due to captain Rohit Sharma not being fit, there was a vacancy in the playing-11, Ishan got a chance in his place and he took full advantage of this opportunity. But, a question has also arisen with this, because now when the series against Sri Lanka starts, will Ishan Kishan get a chance? Will Ishan Kishan be able to fix his place in the playing XI?
This question is also arising because Team India, which is preparing for the World Cup, is now showing its full strength in every series. Ishan scored 210 runs in 131 balls against Bangladesh, during which he completed his double century in just 126 balls, which is the fastest double century in ODI history. Team India's wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik raised questions after this match and asked where does Shikhar Dhawan stand for the Sri Lanka series now? Dinesh Karthik said that it will be difficult to keep Ishan out of the team now, Shubman Gill is also scoring consistently. If Rohit Sharma returns, then someone or the other will have to sit out and in that case, Shikhar Dhawan could be at the end.
Let me tell you, Ishan Kishan is a left-handed wicket-keeper batsman and if a place is made for him in the playing XI, he can play as a wicket-keeper. Rishabh Pant's performance in the white-ball format was similarly questioned as he was ruled out of the Bangladesh series as well, leaving KL Rahul to keep wickets in his place.
