Karnataka: Winter has showed up late due to unseasonal rainfall, and temperatures have dropped significantly across the plains in both north and south interior Karnataka. Bidar's lowest temperature in 85 years was 9.7 degrees Celsius on Monday, then it dipped to 9.4 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

Bidar experienced a low temperature of 10 degrees Celsius in 1936. Bidar's lowest minimum temperature was recorded between the mornings of December 20 and December 21, according to officials with the India Meteorological Department (IMD). "Low minimum temperatures have been recorded practically everywhere in the plains of north and south, not just in Bidar." In fact, mercury readings in Bidar are lowering by the day," the official stated. On Tuesday, Vijayapura recorded 10.4 degrees, Dharwad 10.8 degrees, and Davangere 10.9 degrees, respectively.

Mercury levels have dropped to these levels for the first time in recent years, according to IMD experts. These weather conditions (dry weather) are expected to last for the next four to five days over the state. The temperature will begin to fluctuate after that. It may fall one day and then climb the next. So far, we haven't seen any signs of harsh weather," said IMD meteorologist Sadananda Adiga (Bengaluru). This month, Bidar's temperature has dropped six degrees below usual. Hassan has experienced a similar decline.
